Ideas for Principle #11
💡 A helmet is padded on the inside and worn on the head to prevent injury.
Synthetic grass in a public park - it's placed there to cushion the landing on the ground after playing on the play structures and the slide.
Our skin, fat, and muscles - they're a kind of "padding" meant to protect our internal organs and bones so they don't break.
A phone case - it "pads" the phone all around to protect it from drops on the floor.
Stretching a safety net around a trampoline before you start jumping, so you don't fly off the ground while you jump.
Scared to try something new when there's a chance of falling or getting it wrong?!
Without any "safety net," every mistake feels too dangerous.
You can think about it this way: what "padding" can we prepare in advance, so that if we fall - it won't hurt so much?
When we have a safety net, we can dare more - because even if we make a mistake, there's something soft that will catch us.
