💡 Using something "pretend" instead of the real thing.

A stuffed dog - instead of a real dog

A picture of a tractor in a book, or a toy tractor instead of a tractor at a construction site. 

A picture of a dangerous animal in a book - instead of meeting a real lion to learn about it, you look at its picture - it's safer and shows us exactly what it looks like.

Want to explore or play with something too expensive, fragile, or dangerous?!
You can't always touch or use the real original.

Try thinking: can you use a copy or a representation of the thing, instead of the real thing?

A good copy gives us almost all the advantages of the original, without its risk or cost.
