Ice in a cup of water - slowly melts from solid to liquid, and while it does, it cools the drink.

Steam from a boiling kettle - the water goes from a liquid state to a gas state (steam) when it heats up enough.

Want to make use of the power hidden in the moment something changes form?!

Worth thinking about: how can we make use of the moment a material moves from one state to another?

The magic happens exactly at the moment of transition - the ice cools the most while it's melting, not before and not after.

Try it together. Put one ice cube in the sun and another in the shade, and check which melts faster and why.

Easy
1. Check together how long it takes ice to turn into water at different temperatures.
2. Ask your child what stage they're at now with a goal they want to achieve - the beginning, the middle, or close to the end.

3. Choose together to track their savings over a month, and mark together what stage it's at each week.
